Professor Jemima Comfort lives in her campervan on Brightbourne Beach with her dog Toby. She has a Punch & Judy booth on the beach, with which she entertains children and their parents whenever they visit the seaside. It’s December/ January, so there are no visitors. She still gets her puppets out from time to time. Sir Tanley- Badd is the wicked baron who lives in Cold-Twits Castle upon the cliff. He has an evil plan to get rid of Professor Comfort and her dratted puppets. He’ll then buy the beach for a bag full of pennies from Brightbourne Council. He’ll sell the pebbles to garden centres, then he’ll sell the sand to the Arabs. And, when visitors come back in the summer, he’ll charge the parents to sit on the rough, bare rock where the beach once was - if they come back, at all.)
