Peter Nixon’s full length play with music is set in London’s East End in the early years of World War Two. It encapsulates the humour and stoicism of Londoners at that time of considerable deprivation, laughing and singing songs of the period to keep up their spirits against all the odds. The large cast of adults and children lends itself to school or youth theatre productions, or ideally to a combined adult/youth performance.
